Re: How do I correctly set up profiles for different filamen

JBFUK: You did nothing wrong. It is Simplify3D that behaves like this. And it makes me crazy too. I absolutely don't like the way it manages different filaments. The only thing that is being modified is temperature settings. Just one example: If you have a filament with a very small diameter, e.g. 1...

Re: Confusion about profiles/processes

Thanks a lot for your explanations SimpleScott. They helped me and I'll try the FFF export and will tweak the XML file. I've read about this in the other mentioned thread and thought - it can't be true that such a complicated way is really necessary. I've used Mattercontrol in the past and felt that...

Re: Confusion about profiles/processes

I have the same issues as Helmi: I don't understand the UI with profiles and filaments. I just don't get the philosophy behind it it confuses me as well I've watched several tutorials but am still confused. What and where is the logic behind Simplify 3D 1. If I change from Material A (ABS for exampl...

Simplify 3D question

In my Communication window in Simplify 3D I'm getting a "READ: wait" message every second, even nothing happens. How can I suppress this? Turning off verbose logging basically works, but then I don't see anymore any text. READ: wait READ: wait READ: wait READ: wait READ: wait READ: wait RE...

Strange under extrusion on outer perimeter

I have some strange phenomena on my Rostock Max V2 - and I don't know what happens here: I want to print out the venus box I've downloaded from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1559232 When printing the part that is called OUTDOOR, I keep getting some strange pattern that looks like under extrusion ...

Re: Auto vs. Manual extrusion width?

There's probably a dozen other threads on this forum that answer this same questions, so I won't bother going into too much detail here, but yes, if you increase the extrusion width, it will extrude more plastic. So if you set the width to 0.8mm instead of 0.4mm, it will extrude twice as much plast...

Re: Auto vs. Manual extrusion width?

Interesting question. What does technically exactly happens when setting a larger extrusion width? Just more extrusion %?

Re: Material properties bug

Well - I also agree and don't agree :-) When I store a new material like e.g. "PLA green" or "PLA red" and at the same time I change filament diameters accordingly. They do not get stored as they should. So one could call it a bug, no? The parameters for a filament should definit...
