Smart startpoints for layer

Once your machine is calibrated and the printing material temperature etc. has been set correctly there is always one issue that prevents perfect prints; the start points of the layers. Right now there are: -random -fast -closest to custom point The last one could be useful in some cases to pick a s...

More control over coasting / retractions and distances

I love the settings for coasting and extra retraction distances to get rid of blobs, but I notice sometimes that settings that give nice perimeters give problems with the infill stopping too early, or starting out weak. The things is the problem with the pressure mainly seems to be an issue with per...

Re: Slowness on start

This slow going down is not a homing move. The homing move goes fine. But with a delta printer, the home position is something like (0,0,200). So my guess is, simplify 3d first does a home, and then moves to (0,0,0), but as far as I know this is not controlled by the firmware. If I print with slicer...

middle ground between island handling

Hi there, Right now there are two modes for handling island order. One with 'print islands sequentially without optimization' on, and the other off. Both have a problem: WITH the optimization, it will start at the island that it finished with, which sometimes means it does 2 layers in row on a very ...

Slowness on start

Hi there,

I have a delta printer and when it starts printing it starts with a homing, which is good, and then it goes down to the platform REALLY SLOWLY... like 6 times slower than would be reasonable. How can I increase the speed of the printhead moving down when it first starts?

thanks!

Re: Heat the bed and extruder at the same time

Would be nice to have it as an easy option instead of having to write g-code scripts. Even better, and I think it's not too much to ask for a 150 USD program would be to have the option to start heating the extruder when the heated bed is X degrees below target temperature (or X %). I think the last...

Re: Kossel Mini default settings

Thank you for your reply! I have tried the automatic and that seems to work fine, but i am still wonderig why it was set to manual with the same size as the nozzle in the kossel mini profile? this seemed weird to me as a default setting, was curious if there was a specific reason for this...?

Re: PETG profile

While it is easy to add a new profile, I think PETG is becoming a popular material, so I would agree that it could be added by default.

Heat the bed and extruder at the same time

When I start priting, it will first heat the bed, and then when that's done it heats the extruder.
I could save some time if they heated both at the same time. Or is there some reason for not doing this?

Thank you!

Kossel Mini default settings

Hi there, I just bought the program, and I selected Kossel Mini as my printer. I saw that it took 0.5 as the nozzle diameter, but mine is 0.4. Now my question is: what other settings do I need to change if my nozzle size is different? For example I saw that the layer height was set to 2.5. and that ...
