Why does it put down this layer for the raft? It is the raft "base" layer and it is absolutely useless. 2.jpg When it puts down the top layer it is very uneven and not at all smooth because of all of the gaps in the base layer. 3.jpg We used to be able to do just one layer for a raft in v4...
If the part is literally just a constant rectangle with one cutout, I think it would be easy to share with our team. You can email it directly to us at the link below if you don't want to share it publicly. https://www.simplify3d.com/contact-us/ Without providing the actual files though, I doubt an...
The model is as it looks. It is 5mm thick and the shape is what you see, it does not change as layers increase. Just a flat model at that end. No change in geometry. I tried a number of settings changes including layer height, number of top/bottom layers, number of walls, extrusion width, speeds etc...
In my experience, things like that are typically caused by odd changes in the topology of the STL file, but it's hard to make any better guesses without being able to look at the exact setup for your print. Can you post the factory file for the print? It is a customer file so I can't share it. The ...
Why would S3D do this, area indicated by yellow arrows, on the first layer. It breaks the first layer into two sections which makes the surface of the print look bad. Remaining layers print ok or fill in to the perimeters without the break. Model has been checked and is error free. Surface is flat a...
We desperately need to be able to set the support gap by an actual measure, such as 0.24mm and independent of layer height, rather than just by the current layer height. If you run a layer height such as 0.16mm then supports will mostly "weld" to the model and be near impossible to remove....
Hi wirlybird, I did a few more tests with S3D and the Qidi X-Max 3. The results are nice...so nice, that I decided (contrary to my statement before) to write a post-processor for the the dynamic acceleration control with Simplify3D. I think, in a few days it's ready to share. Do you have the Qidi X...
I figured most of this. I really don't print all that fast. So that isn't too big an issue. I am having big issues with leveling with the printer. Runs auto leveling before the print and yet it starts the first layer on one side of the bed and will start good but by the time the first layer is at th...
