Re: Any S3D users have an original Prusa i3 MK2?

I've now printed 15 20x20x10 boxes. I'm just about done (or at least satisfied for now). I stopped after 17 boxes. I reprinted my 3D Benchy. I'm satisfied for now. Thanks to GreyBeard for the pointer to acceleration values. I realized these are set in the starting script provided with the RC4 FFF f...

Re: print speed updates in every material?

I see this trip people up fairly regularly, myself included. Creating a new material or quality option with the plus buttons in Simplify3D doesn't necessarily assign your newly saved settings to the newly created auto-configure option Good stuff! Thanks. I also agree with the others that it would b...

I think your 3D Benchy looks really good!

Re: Any S3D users have an original Prusa i3 MK2?

The main tweak that changed the quality was not to S3D but, to the Marlin firmware. Specifically, reducing the Acceleration Jerk from default of 20, down to 2. That magnitude of 10 difference resulted in best print quality, no more shaking machine to death and quieter. Thanks for posting your FFF. ...

Re: Any S3D users have an original Prusa i3 MK2?

Greetings, I've seen your posts in the Prusa forums. I'm using the Prusa RC4 profile. I've made some tweaks over time. I'm still trying to improve it. Now that S3D has a profile, I think I will try that. My current challenge is getting the outside perimeter walls on a 20mm cube to be as smooth as th...

Re: Print-bed Center is offset after "Prepare to Print"

Those are offsets for the auto-leveling probe, not the toolhead offsets. So you were right to check the Configuration.h file, but those are the wrong lines to edit Ack! You are right, of course. I searched for 'offset' and stopped too soon. It looks like these are the correct ones for extruder offs...

Re: Support not showing in preview.

Great explanation! So, in summary I can try moving one part a bit and see what happens or just keep lowering the "support resolution until I get the supports I need? At times when I didn't get automatic supports generated, I usually drop from the default size a bit, and then I'll get supports where...

Re: Print-bed Center is offset after "Prepare to Print"

How do I change these offsets to accommodate S3D? I'm not sure how to change the firmware offsets. I'm not familiar with the details of your printer, but a Google search shows me it does use the Marlin firmware, similar to mine (and to many). Are you familiar with the process to use the Arduino sof...

Re: Print-bed Center is offset after "Prepare to Print"

I am using a Raise3D N1 with dual extruders. As I think you've see in the other responses, Simplify3D doesn't deal well with offsets set in their software (which they allow) when it comes to Preview. They seem to expect you to set them in the firmware (which, as others have recommended, *is* probab...

Re: Preview Mode Fixes and Enhancement Request

That's because you shouldn't be setting the offsets in the software! It's always better to just set the offsets in the firmware instead of having to work around misconfigured firmware by offsetting all your gcode coordinates. While I agree that setting offsets in the firmware is probably the better...
