That is common issue that S3D lives with for years. Search for topics "vase seam".
It was in S3D 3.0, and other slicers have it too. The only one how can print without it - Cura with z-seam fix option ON.
Same here. Spent a day to find it, as it appears only on exact speed/settings and model. Here is my gcode, you can import FFF profile from it into clean S3D 4.1 with default settings and it should be reproducible, at least with provided benchy model: https://www.dropbox.com/s/uyq4sfshhvw20bd/3DBench...
a easy programming "radio" button or check box option, possibly even a selection of how many perimeters use the "external perimeter speed" In my understanding, one check button with the "Use old style perimeters speed" text, and another speed calculation formula in app...
A read of this might help avoid embarrassment.... http://physicscatalyst.com/article/common-mistake-average-speed-calculation/ Numbers in my calculations is wrong, but the idea is simple - when inner perimeter prints faster, it will take less time to print the model. Also quality influence should b...
The actual numbers isn't important, the point is that the average speed is higher with v4, so total print time will be a tiny bit faster, not slower. v4.0: (40+50+50)/3 = 47mm/s v3.1: (40+50+60)/3 = 50mm/s (faster) In case when perimeters have 25% speed with max 60mm/s (my default setup in S3D 3.1)...

Actually, 40-50-50 - internal perimeters print speed is not max speed. You can see the difference on the image above.

But if you need to print vase without the seam ...
