Mesh Mixer and S3D

I have been using Meshmixer to split and add supports to my models as the branch support option creates supports that save on a huge amount of filament. There are a few other features that meshmixer has that are really handy like being able to hollow out a solid model etc. S3D set up so that when I ...

Mouse Ears to stop warping.

When printing ABS I was having a lot of issues with parts warping, mostly the outer walls or a corner. The fix was prety simple. I now add an 8mm circle 1.2mm high that is offset from the part no more that 1mm and attached to the part with a 2mm wide tab. These are easy to snap/cut off then sand dow...

Variable Layer Depth

Having a read on a forum someone came up with an interesting concept. Printing from the outside inwards why cant we set the first layer of the shell to be say 0.1mm and do two passes then for the rest of the inner layer do them at 0.2. this would create a high definition surface and allow you to sti...

Multi Size Supports

It would be really nice to be able to add various size supports even better if this was set up in the auto generate. Ideally supports on angles would be AWESOME however for the moment I generate a bunch of larger supports at around 3mm then go in a add some 1mm supports to areas where they are neede...

Vanishing Processes

I had a really nice collection of process that I have been working on for a while. This saves a huge amount of time when printing however about 3 weeks ago they all just vanished for no reason. I started to remake a few of them then on startup today again they are all just gone. There are no warning...

Re: Custom Post/GCode

it seems that you can not set a custom script to run before the hot end and heat bed is started. You can add commands before the extruder and bed start heating. For example G28 ; home printer before heating M109 S[extruder0_temperature] M190 S[bed0_temperature] G1 Z5 F1800 ; lift Z after heating If...

Custom Post/GCode

There are a few modification I have made to my printer, Some are preset up routines that need to be run prior to the hot end firing up and a couple need to be run after a print has finished. There is an option for custom G-Code to be added after the print has finished and you can run a script before...

Override Speed Setting

It seems that if you have the override set and create a new print, then go to print it the override setting is not sent to the printer until you start and adjust the setting then it seems to take. Something that would be really handy would be an actual response as to the speed the printer is running...

Re: Putting a TPU Shell on a PLA part

I am trying to find a TPU that is conductive, If i have no puck with this I may end up just using conductive PLA or ABS. the main form needs to have 2 conductive strips on it and this seemed to be the easiest way to do it. However I may end up having to bite the bulolet and put a dual feeder on the ...
