Coast question

In which situations will coast actually work? To my understanding, when extrusion actually stops (followed by a travel move, or layer change) coast is activated and extrusion stops before the end of the move by the distance set in the coast parameter. My question is if there are other scenarios when...

Cannot print islands sequentially in multiple projects

Trying to print a quite big part from Colorfabb XT-CF20. This material has the rude habit of gathering on the nozzle to excess blobs which are - once grove large enough - usually choose the worst position to drop, and therefore messing up the print or just sitting there solidifying and waiting for t...

Multiprocess problems

I 've found two two features that don't work the way I expected when using more than one processes: 1. The "Speed overrides" features doesn't work with multiple processes. I have two processes, printing layer-by layer, one layer printing time is e.g. 10s (per project). Minimum layer time i...

Re: Possibility of marking bodies as "support"

That wouldn't help noticeably. I'd still have to make the complete modeling of the support structures. On the other hand, if S3D could recognize them as support structures, it could take care of keeping the proper distances from the actual parts. So I could simply create intersecting bodies instead ...

Possibility of marking bodies as "support"

Simplify3D does make a good support, but that's sometimes just not good enough. When creating parts that almost exceed the capabilities of the printer we use, sometimes the only way to succeed is to design the support structures on our own along with the part itself. It works, but it's a lot of extr...
