Re: Acceleration Settings

I will slice with CraftWare's acceleration feature, pass it through GPX, test it on my Sailfish firmware printer with and without firmware acceleration enabled, and report back. I can vary the time step, and may try a very small interval like 1ms or 0.1ms if the slicer accepts it. I know its more co...

Re: Acceleration Settings

In addition, Craftware is truly wonderful in how it shows line by line moves, and scrolls the actual gcode visually for those moves. Feed rates are shown by color, and it is clear that deceleration and acceleration in a single line is shown with fading colors in the sliced object view. Simplify3D's ...

Re: Top layer Infill Angle

So you are proposing I change the number of top surfaces to 0, and use rectilinear infill at 100% as a separate process, that only fills the top couple layers? Yeah, you are right, I could do that... But would it be so difficult to incorporate another feature that allows changing surface infill angl...

Re: Acceleration Settings

Thanks for looking at the gcode, since I haven't yet. I rest my case... but boy do you sound grumpy! SD card reads should be faster than 250kHz. I don't intend to print over USB... The smoother behavior I noticed must have been due to another setting or condition. Originally I thought Cura would cal...

Re: Acceleration Settings

I know that I can turn OFF firmware acceleration in Sailfish, and instead allow Cura to generate the acceleration enabled gcode. I can then convert the file from gcode to x3g with GPX, load it on my replicator, and during printing it will behave as though firmware acceleration was turned ON. It rea...

Re: Acceleration Settings

The fact that every firmware does it that way, doesn't mean it should be that way! All GRBL motion planning derived firmware that run on 8-bit controllers are exhibiting print slowing and other motion planning bugs when calculating acceleration for detailed models. 32 bit hardware does not suffer fr...

Re: Acceleration Settings

Without sounding argumentative, I am still not 100% convinced. Accelerated moves can be represented by gcode as much as non-accelerated moves. Ignoring the x3g limitations in accepting "varying acceleration", in my opinion the firmware should only read gcode line by line, and send the appr...

Re: Acceleration Settings

I wouldn't know how to do this in Sailfish firmware... Accelerated "planning" should be done by the slicer, not the printer hardware.

Re: Top layer Infill Angle

+1... this is MANDATORY!!! I cannot properly calibrate my JKN Advance K and K2 values in sailfish without being able to do 0, 90, 0, 90 top/solid surface infill.
