help with pauses / retraction question

when i pause in a place that i didnt plan on i get a big dot / blob of filament in that spot. is there a way to prevent that? for example if i have a planned pause in a 2 step process the dot/blob of filament is tiny. i assume it has to do with retraction. how can i remedy for unplanned pauses. than...

sorry to hijack but quick question if i read this correct you are saying setup two process print the 1st process. change filament then print second process? my question is after the 1st stops and you change the filament and then start process 2 how will process 2 know where to start printing exactly...

yes i am only using 90% infill for the bottom. i have tried many different mm heights from about 5mm to half of the model and nothing works. i then use 10% infill to print the top. but it doesnt work :( i might just try it like the creator says on thingiverse do this below and pause to insert glue a...
