Re: Inadequate release notes....

And as a footnote, I hate the "bucket" note at the end of the release note section "Numerous additional bug fixes and stability improvements" I think there's more then few ppl on the forum that come from software development world that can agree that devs like to show where they spent their time an...

I am dreading installing it
since you can keep few of them in parallel you can install it in separate directory and then use the older version if new one does not properly work. you just want to first have backup / export of all your profiles "for just in case"

Re: How to keep corners good when printing fast?

up a temp, I read you are using a ptfe lined extruder, that's not very petg friendly, as if you want high printing speeds you need to up the temp, especially for petg, I print 0.4mm nozzle, 0.33mm layer, 0.5mm width at 70mm/sec at 255C, anything lower and I get parts with underextrusion or total blo...

Re: CAD Recommendation to use with S3D

Fusion 360 is not "web based" but rather heavily leveraging Cloud/web for storage. the 3d view you are looking at is embedded web page and the whole thing is using webgl to do 3d so while you are not viewing it in regular browser it is still web based (number of operations are "local app" so it's n...

Re: Paid upgrade For 2019 upcoming Version 5.0

It all depends what they are improvements they make. I tend to believe that knowing history is the only way to know the future ... history black and white: https://www.simplify3d.com/software/release-notes/ I joined at 3.0.0 so 2014 or 2015 don't remember, 3.0.1 was july 2015 and was first useful r...

Re: I think I figured out why S3D print times are so off and how to fix it

use gcodestat as postprocessor it will read the gcode and calculate proper time based on jerk/acceleration, it can also upload file directly to octoprint .. it's open source so you can tweak it any way you want (unlicence so you can do with it whatever you like)

Re: Paid upgrade For 2019 upcoming Version 5.0

You can always keep using the version you are happy with right now. would be cool but if for any reason company goes under we are all done with it as 4.x (3.x too, probbly prev versions too) require activation server to be reachable in order to verify it can work or not so if they kill the domain, ...

Re: Paid upgrade For 2019 upcoming Version 5.0

We actually already provide 1 year of free software updates along with your license purchase. This means that if you purchased the software now, you would still be able to upgrade to any version released within the next 12 months for free. what is actually more important for most of us is the refun...
