Thanks Brian. Yes, these tags are key for me as to why I appreciate S3D so much. I've got quite a few enabled for material specific settings. For some reason I missed this one...though now that I searched the .fff while modifying it, I found it. Go figure.

Hey Shaiss. Yes, it's very frustrating. Though your particular issue is slightly different. Your features would be considered more "top solid layers", as defined by the control in the layers tab. I agree however that it would be nice to have a some new exception controls for those as well....

Latest Sailfish does at least have the ability to set fan speed from the printer interface before starting a print. Hugely helpful. Would be nice if x3g could support this though. Especially for instances where I'd like to have full fan speed for bridges, but a lesser value for the rest of the print...

I've seen similar results before and it's usually due to the model and not the slicer. Sometimes the way faces are created on curvatures upon export creates some interesting geometry that the slicer then follows.
