Re: Brim inside the object

So it's been a year since the last post in the thread and 18 months since the last S3D update. Any news on this? Currently still having to model this in by hand which is annoying when using a set of models between different slicers.

[FIXED] Variable Settings Wizard creates invalid processes

If the heights list is sorted "wrong", the wizard will create processes with the starting and ending points reversed.

Sliced without issues here. Can you share your factory file?

Grouped processes can't be reordered

When processes are grouped, they lose any ordering they had and take on a seemingly random order, and can no longer be reordered, which makes tweaking complex multi-process jobs a real PitA.

Re: Why does Simplify always scale a model that is modeled i

If you save your STL in ASCII format, as opposed to binary, you can actually confirm this yourself. The format of STL files is very, very simple. It's just a list of vertices organized into structures like loops and facets, and normal vectors describing the orientation of these structures. A simple ...

Re: How to print last thre layers with different process?

Again, there are obviously dozens of complicated and rondabout ways to calculate a millimeter height to match a certain layer number, but it doesn't change the fact that allowing setting process end and start points to the nth layer instead of certain height would be a trivial feature to implement i...

Re: Pausing, removing model, continue

If you want to continue from a specific layer , just use the "start printing at height " option on the Advanced tab. I've used this many times to restart a print that failed at a specific point. (emphasis mine) I really wish this was possible without always whipping out the calculator...

Re: How to print last thre layers with different process?

But it isn't all that difficult, True, but for the slicer, it would be trivial to make a change on a certain layer, given that it's the one generating the layers, so it makes little sense that this isn't at least an option. if you want to know the number of a certain layer it is very easy to realis...

Re: Printrbot: starting gcode and y-axis issues

Had this exact same issue, fixed it by changing the starting script to G21 ;metric values G28 X0 Y0 Z0 ;move X/Y to min endstops G29 ; auto bed leveling (the rest of the S3D generated GCode before actual toolpath moves is p much identical to what Cura outputs, and Cura doesn't try to ram the Y-axis ...
