99% of the time when I see people having problems like this, it's because there's problems with the STL file they imported. You can use the S3D repair tools to check it for errors, or try fixing it with one of the free repair services (netfabb, makeprintable, etc) Thank you for this. I am very new ...

From the picture, it looks like you were using too large of a support pillar size. Set the pillar resolution to 1mm, then change the angle back to 45 degrees or whatever you want.
