Problem is the "free" options work, but they aren't close to S3d in functionality and customizability. That's only partially true. Slic3r has had Octoprint integration for some time and has variable layer height (Prusa edition), S3D has neither (a hack doesn't count). I love S3D, but as a hobbyist ...

I think a lot of people would go to one of the free offerings instead of upgrading if there were cost involved to upgrade, especially hobbyists. I'm pretty sure I would. I might anyway, since the update schedule is so sparse and spread out.

Apparently it's not that easy, as I've tried several times to get it to work. And a workaround which involves manually installing additional software (curl) is in no way a substitute for baked in support.

There is a mechanical problem in the x axis. Something is catching and causing the belt to skip or the motor to stall.

I'm having a bit of trouble with this. I've added the curl statement that was posted above into my post-processing section in S3D, but nothing happens with I click save to disk. If i copy and paste the curl statement into CMD (and add the file location) then it works great. Do i need to do anything...

Has this ever been implemented? It's the number one reason I've stayed with Slic3r.
