I think a lot of people would go to one of the free offerings instead of upgrading if there were cost involved to upgrade, especially hobbyists. I'm pretty sure I would. I might anyway, since the update schedule is so sparse and spread out.

Apparently it's not that easy, as I've tried several times to get it to work. And a workaround which involves manually installing additional software (curl) is in no way a substitute for baked in support.

There is a mechanical problem in the x axis. Something is catching and causing the belt to skip or the motor to stall.

I'm having a bit of trouble with this. I've added the curl statement that was posted above into my post-processing section in S3D, but nothing happens with I click save to disk. If i copy and paste the curl statement into CMD (and add the file location) then it works great. Do i need to do anything...

Has this ever been implemented? It's the number one reason I've stayed with Slic3r.
