Re: 4.0 is out!

Installed 4.0 on Linux OpenSuse Leap 4.2 without any problems. Checked out most of the new features. Provides al lot of improvements and very useful options. Especially the improved flexibility in settings for support, infill and the ability to modify variable layer settings. Also the ability to def...

Re: custom prime pillar, order of printing

Hi dkightley and Greg, I actually came accross the topic which suggests to delete and undo the processes but for some reason the trick didn't work for me. Acutally the process orde was changed, but the printing order remained the same. Also after saving and re-opening the .factory file the processes...

custom prime pillar, order of printing

I've a model which I want to print in 2 processes: 1. Extruder 1, stop at Z=1mm 2. Extruder 2, start at Z=1mm When I turn on the automatic prime pillar in both processes the prime pillar is only printed for process 1. So I created a small box, 2 mm high and added 2 additional processes to print the ...

Re: dual extrusion and changed layer settings: no prime pill

Thanks for your reply and suggestion about the prime pillar. Your answer implies that it is actually not possible to do a dual extruder print with different layer heights including a prime pillar or ooze shield in S3D? That would be a bummer! Would there be another way to get a prime pillar in dual ...

Re: OpenSuse Leap: authentication cannot connect to server

If there would be a network problem, the VM with Ubuntu (which is a guest to the host on which S3D does NOT work) would also not work. When I run tcpdump, clearly the server in the US is reached and replies. Moreover I have no other software complaining about the internet connection to fail. S3D sup...

OpenSuse Leap: authentication cannot connect to server

Hi, I'm trying to get S3D working on my OpenSuse Leap 42.2 PC. After running the LaunchScript.sh file (as normal user or as root), and entering the username and password, I get the message that no connection can be made with the authentication server. S3D is not started. However, when I run the same...

Re: dual extrusion and changed layer settings: no prime pill

Thanks for the suggestion. In fact I did come across that post, but it doesn't solve my problem. So still a factory file. It is a small test object, consisting of 2 model-flies which are printed in 2 processes. The first proces up to 5mm, the second starts at 5mm. This configuration refuses to 'prep...

dual extrusion and changed layer settings: no prime pillar

I have various dual colour models where I need to changes various settings for certain regions like layer height, number of top/bottom layers etc. Then I split the printing in various processes and define (Advanced tab) the layers which need to be printed with that setting for each process. That wor...

GUI: make difference between process and extruder properties

I'm using a double head printer. Often I want to use different settings for the 2 extruders. In the GUI it is not clear which property is specific to the group process and which setting is specific to the extruders. Like you can set separate temperatures for each extruder, but you cannot set differe...
