Do not understand why Hide/Show of models functionality was removed from 5.x. I use it all the time in my workflow.

I'm not sure this is the same issue as the one you are referencing. The OP was asking for a way to put an outline around the infill. I think you're talking about extending the solid fill more. Is there a setting in S3D (or combination of settings and other techniques) to eliminate rapid (non printing ) motion from traversing across a printed area?

This would improve print quality by eliminating the occasional thin whisker of material from being deposited in the just printed layer.
