Re: Ironing

heavily staffed developer area Staffed by what? Furniture? Plants? I am 100% sure it's not staffed by developers as if we look at the change-log for past few years I'd say you have one developer tops working below 10% of the time. I don't want to insult anyone but sentences like that are insult to ...

Re: Vertical curling on first 20 layers or so

ABS is tricky that way, you want lot of heat to stop it from warping but you want it even inside the chamber; you need print bed to be hot so that part stick but you don't want it too hot so that part shrinks. For start, find the lowest temp of the heated print bed you can use that will hold the par...

G-Code tab - per "machine" not per "profile"

Don't know if this would be useful for "general public" but I sure could benefit from it big time. I run multiple printers and while most of the settings on them are same the "G-Code" tab is different for each printer, namely "Global G-Code Offsets" (Z-axis only) and bu...

quick test between slicers I use the most:
  • With Simplify3D - not possible

Re: Crashing Constantly on Process Update

BTW, might have to do with Win10! I'm still on Win7 on all my workhorses as I find Win10 unfortunately unusable!

Re: Crashing Constantly on Process Update

For me v3.1 was crashing from time to time on some operations with profiles, once a week approx. and was not repeatable. It was annoying but survivable. V4 then started crashing non stop (10-20 times per day) and it was unusable. I cleaned the registry, installed it blank and never had a crash since...

Re: API for add-ins

Imagine if thousands of people changing your code without documentation (like its mostly in opensource projects). After sometime you will end up with a code that nobody can understand. That is as far from the truth as you can imagine! Look at proper projects like Smoothieware, MySQL, Postgresql... ...

Re: G0 code

Now while modern firmware's like smoothieware do not make a difference between G1 and G0, most old firmware's from time before 5D make that distinction and without it they can't print properly. @webers, you might want to just turn off the 5D option in Simplify3D and click to add M101/102/103, that w...

Re: G0 code

You can also find reference to G0 and G1 working like that in almost any CNC documentation starting by the NIST standard: http://technisoftdirect.com/catalog/download/RS274NGC_3.pdf following applications that use g-code for decades: http://linuxcnc.org/docs/html/gcode.html https://machmotion.com/cn...
