Re: v4 64MB bug with with Factory file with big STL files

Just wanted to chime in here. S3D4 is shredding the STLs on save. The OBJs come in fine and when I save the factory file the thing is toast. So this is a major bug that is rendering S3D4 unusable. All those new features too. Just in case a mod or S3D4 staff is reading the Mesh comes in with missing ...

Re: messed up meshes on s3d exit and re-load

I too searched and just found teamcarlisle's thread. If maybe a mod could merge these threads that might help everyone. I'm sure that the S3D crew will work on this problem quickly. Until then I found that if one wants to use the new features in ver 4 just create the processes carefully and then exp...

Re: messed up meshes on s3d exit and re-load

Sorry to double post but I feel this topic needs to be moved forward. I have loaded both S3D3 and S3D4 on a different computers and I'm getting the exact same result. The only constant is that I'm using Nvidia cards in both machines, so it could be a video driver issue but t hat doesn't seem likely ...

Re: First layer and raft.

Wow 500% on your first layer height? Thats HUGE? But it works well? Yes it puts down a good first layer without smashing the plastic down too flat. Just remember I use a q-card to calibrate, and I make sure there is a lot of drag on the paper when I'm calibrating. If you use a regular sheet of pape...

Re: First layer and raft.

Hello! Newbie question. First Layer Setting.JPG If I use Raft, the first layer is first layer of raft or part? Thanks. While rafts are good sometimes and for different plastics, I found that printing without a raft is In most cases better. You may have to tweak your first layer settings to get the ...

Re: Factory file vs process exporting?

I found a tutorial on process saving but I can find no information on how to use and the purpose of factory files. Since the license allows two machines is there a way to share setups between them. I typically work on a part at one location and print at another. It would be nice to be able to keep ...

Iam having issues with Pellowing on a top layer of a cube. I am turning on the cooling for these last layers.
Is there a way to control the speed on say like the last 3 layers of the print? Print with TPU

Use more top and bottom layers. I use 10 - 15.

Re: Holes in prints

Apart from making the layer height smaller and smaller, (the attached pic shows a part with a 0.2 z height) is there some magic setting or button that I am missing? no magic :( - increasing number of shells helps - decreasing layer height helps - increasing number of top layers helps but the major ...
