Re: Pursa MMU support

Yes please add MMU (Wipetower) support for S3D because the lack of it prohibits me from using S3D anymore which I would really prefer to Slic3r, not only because I payed good money for S3D.

It's time for S3D to arrive in 2017 :D

Re: Stability issues

Hello guys,

thanks for your replies. I couldn't test your suggestions out yet but I will provide feedback how it worked once I'll try again to print this part.

Stability issues

Hello, I am having troubles with models like this one: https://thingiverse-production-new.s3.amazonaws.com/renders/d0/53/d8/9d/45/a04a8f2c51696746928004f74baf0197_preview_featured.jpg It prints out nicely but those pillars which are supposed to hold the spools break very easy off by just the faintes...

Re: Tip of the Day 10- Extruder tab, a technical analysis

Retraction Distance: How much filament will be retracted when the software does a retract. For standard Direct Drive, usually .5 to 2.5 mm will work well. For Bowden extruders, 5 to 8.5 mm seems to work well. I don't think the type of drive is the only factor, it's also depending on what material y...

Re: Details of layers

For me 50mm/s is what I use for a mid-fast print, if I want quality I go down to 40 or less which usually does not prolong printing time by that much. To have the tips of the fingers and top of the helmet nicer I'd go to 0.06mm layer height. Also don't go too high with the temperature, for PLA I use...

Re: First layer prints as infill pattern

Btw, I've got the idea to increase 1st Layer Height from this post: https://forum.simplify3d.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1941 If your First Layer Height is below 100%, the extrusion amount will remain the same, only the Z-will change, but if you increase above 100%, the extrusion amount will scale a...

Re: First layer prints as infill pattern

Thank you very much Doug, I just learned a bunch a new things ;) So this explains also why I suddenly had to lower Global-Z even further. With 100% on 1st layer it was printing fine with -10% and when I toyed around with some settings (like 1L height) I suddenly had to go further down to -14. Hmm in...

First layer prints as infill pattern

or at least that's what it looks like, There are spaces between the lines and between the outer shell I really don't like and I don't know how to tweak that. Again, coming from Cura I never saw such a bottom layer printed, the lines there are always glued to each other without a space between the li...

Re: Constant stutter during print

I tried yesterday printing a 100% solid with 999 top/bottom layer and there was no stutter either. So I tried to recreate the settings I had when the stutter occured and recorded the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKsBw_qZ3Es&feature=youtu.be You hear the stutter clearly (turn up the vol...

Re: Constant stutter during print

I have figured it out what caused it I think, it was because of the 100% infill. I thought it would print a solid then (as in cura) but apparently S3D still prints a mini infill and not just straight lines. I am printing now with only 30% infill an there is no stutter, prints very smoothly and the r...
