Re: Simplify freezing

I have not had this problem, and I run W10 64 bit as well. I seem to recall other posts that mentioned issues with their graphics systems. You might check to see if your graphics card is running the latest drivers. You can also search the forum for any posts from users with the same graphics hardware.

Re: Makergear M3-ID will not respond to any commands.

There is a tool icon on the right of the screen (the gear) that will open up a control interface. It will show the connection status, and monitors all communications with the printer. You can also manually set the temperature, and use the "jog" option to move the bed around and extrude filament for ...

Re: Changing extrusion multiplier during print

To improve bottom finnish, I increases the extrusion multiplier with 50%, but I want to set normal filament flow from 2nd layer. Is this possible i n S3D? Under the "Advanced" tab, you can set a height range for a given profile. Set up one profile for the first layer, and then a second for everythi...

Re: Giving Up on S3D

I looked at IdeaMaker briefly, but there wasn't a ton of info on how to set it up for other brands of machines. I have PrusaSlicer working, but it took a couple days to figure out all the configuration details just to get a basic print from it on my MakerGear M2E. I still have a long way to go befor...

Re: OK, Time to Start Yet Another "Where is Version 5? " Thread

The "harshness" is largely the result of YEARS of pent up frustration with the broken promises and lack of information coming from S3D. If they were having development problems, they needed to share that with the users as opposed to stonewalling their customer base. I've been involved with software ...

Re: Printer ejecting filament during first layer problem

If it always happens on the first layer, you can shrink the gcode file down by only trying to print the first layer or two.

Go to the "Advanced" tab, and set the print start & stop height to 0 & (for example) 1mm. Just to be sure, try printing that to make sure it still messes up.

Re: Printer ejecting filament during first layer problem

Does it only happen with this one print? I'd try a known good print file to make sure it's not a hardware issue like a loose connection.

Re: Printer ejecting filament during first layer problem

Check your retraction settings. I once made a typo and told it to retract 90 mm instead of 0.90 mm.

Happy 2nd Anniversary, Ver. 4.1.2

It's been 2 years to the day that S3D posted an update to their software. Since then, there has been nothing but empty promises about the mythical version 5. The last item posted on their blog was 7 months ago about all the new infrastructure they were putting in place to support the mythical Versio...
