Re: Different results on the same machine

I also have a FFCP. Could be the PTFE liner tube into the nozzle. Your print looks like mine did the time that tube got a little crispy and needed replacing. It results in under extrusion since the tube has constricted and is causing extra friction on the filament. This is most noticeable as gaps in...

Re: Bed Leveling Flashforge Creator Pro

I haven't used the stock provided script for my FFCP in ages. There's a good replacement on Thingiverse that provides multiple options, depending on the thickness of your paper and nozzle configuration. I haven't needed to adjust any global Z offsets in Simplify. I also use a glass bed with purple g...

Re: FFCP Banding Around Wall Holes and Other Detail

Backing off the speed never seemed to reduce the problem for me. The only thing that helped was switching to a different filament brand. I almost exclusively use MakerGeeks PLA now. Barely, if ever, see this problem anymore. Maybe it's the higher temps their PLA prints at, or maybe I tweaked some ot...

Re: Supported Overhang Infill Angle

Never mind, figured out Simplify3D was treating it as a bridging process. Changing the bridging settings altered the tab's first layer behavior.

Supported Overhang Infill Angle

I have a part with a small overhang exhibiting some weird behavior. For whatever reason, the infill angle for the first bottom layer of the tab over the support material does not follow the set angles. This is regardless of support infill angle(s) and internal/external infill angle(s). Infill angles...

Re: FFCP Banding Around Wall Holes and Other Detail

Printing in various orientations (90, 45 degree increments) did not change or reduce the effect. Printing with various cooling fan settings did not change or reduce the effect. Attached is another example of the issue on a couple other parts. Notice the areas circled in red - the effect is present o...

Re: Cooling Fan Control Between Processes

My idea from the last post seemed to work. If anyone is interested: Setting the cooling fan in the first process to Layer 1 fan speed 0 Layer X fan speed 100 And all higher processes to Layer X fan speed 100 Where X is the layer (from the bed) you want the fan to turn on. This makes the side squirre...

Re: Cooling Fan Control Between Processes

It's weird because the layer number in the process settings seems to want it both ways. That is, it treats layer 0 as the bed level (true first layer) but also subsequent layers are offset from the first process layer (potentially part way up the part). I can't say for sure the nozzle and bed temper...

Cooling Fan Control Between Processes

I don't think it's relevant, but I have a Flashforge Creator Pro 2016. I've noticed an issue with the cooling fan setting with changing processes over layer height. If the cooling fan is set to the same settings for all layers (off until layer 3 when printing PLA, for example), the fan shuts off dur...

Re: FFCP Banding Around Wall Holes and Other Detail

JasonA - I've read through the material you posted and I think we have different issues. I only have quality problems around certain details - it's actually predictable where the banding will occur (anywhere there is a hole or recessed area in the outline). The rest of the print is very good looking...
