Support & first layer direction the same

Need help with a configuration issue. I am printing an item upside down to minimise long support material. Most of the support starts at the bed with a small amount of the finish item shape beginning there also. The support is rectilinear and is in a is aligned in the X direction. My trouble is that...

Supports not reach base of part

Gday all. Not a newbie here but not an expert either. Supports look good in Simplify3D but don't touch in the printed part. I'm printing in PLA on a CR-10 so would expect that the print hasn't warped that much to lift off the supports. Bed temp is 65 degrees C and extruder is 200 C. As you can see i...

Re: New filament problem.

What is your speed? Double check the filament diameter you have entered and also check the extrusion multiplier. It is easy to get the decimal off a place! Thanks wirlybird. Speed is 40.0 mm/s for Default Printing Speed & Outline Speed. Extrusion multiplier is 1.00. Filament diameter is 1.7500 ...

New filament problem.

I'm a slight newbie with 3D printers so go easy on me. Monoprice Select Mini. Been working pretty well for a couple of months. Fitted new filament yesterday and have this clicking/skipping of the drive wheel issue. Am running close to default profile in Simplify3D for this print. Have increased extr...

Is windows editing/reformatting the gcode?

Strange goings on here. I export the gcode, can open and view the file. When I eject the SD card, then insert it again and open the gcode file all of the code has been replaced with capital U. See the video link here https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B2CmrzzxkVZ3MHhVelF6OG14QTA I saved a copy to the...

Re: Print has started but no action taken

Thanks Brian. So I followed your instructions, reset the software and printed a 20 mm test cube with no software changes. First cube printed perfectly except no filament on what appears to be the first layer. I printed another using the printers Make Another function. It did the same, no filament on...

Print has started but no action taken

New to Simplify3D software but have been printing for a year or so. Gcode outputs fine, produces a 31 meg file. Load the SD card into Monoprice Select Mini and start the print. Bed heats up, extruder heats, up, progress bar on display says it's 3/4 the way through a 10 hour print even though I start...
