Re: Thin-wall printing bug

Thank you for looking into this! I've attached the factory file for a 'torture test' of the undesired stop/start effect, which might help understand what triggers the issue. There are two adjacent shells that have a narrow gap cut in their facing walls, to force the desired location for layer indexi...

Thin-wall printing bug

Scenario: Start with a solid model, which is then shelled to the nominal width of the print extrusion. The CAD software's shell algorithm will adjust according to the slope of the surface, so that sloped walls will have a thicker linewidth when sliced by S3D. Setting thin wall behavior to "allo...

Force clockwise-only?

Is there some way to force the toolpath to always move the same direction after indexing layers? I'm trying to print a model in vase mode, with a shell that has holes punched through the walls. The holes force an expected mode change from continuous to layer-by-layer, but that also triggers a direct...

Vase mode transtion tuning

Vase mode appears to start and stop with the presumption of the layer just below and just above being completely level - I get why it would be complicated to presume otherwise. However, that means the layer height has to start and end at zero-thickness, which is quite challenging in practice. The al...
