dual extrusion prints - one layer at a time?

When using S3D to print something with two tool, S3D slices in a pattern similar to: layer1, T0 layer1, T1 layer2, T1 layer2 T0 layer3 T0 and so on. Basically, assuming all layers require work by both tools, it keeps the same tool going for 2 layers probably to minimize tool changes. This is great a...

Re: Script to have two different toolchange retractions

First thing about the tool change script: It runs immediately after your starting gcode script regardless of which tool is selected. Therefore, I'd suggest checking the old tool _and_ the new tool for conditional lines. Else, you might get some odd retraction/prime behavior at the start of your prin...

Re: Filament properties aren't unique to material types

You can customize what is changed for the material choice following those steps. I've done this before and you only have to edit the file once. After that, you can just use the normal UI for all settings changes. I think you might have missed the last paragraph in my post... I know I can export the...

Filament properties aren't unique to material types

S3D wonderfully allows setting various "per material" properties. This changes certain things (such as temperatures) and not others. For the most part, most of these make sense. There's some debate on if others should be changed "per material" and those are usually NOT changed wi...

dynamic retraction settings (restart distance)

I'd like to see S3D have a more dynamic setting for retraction restart distance. The idea is that the retraction can't pull back filament that's already molten in the nozzle. That gives ooze, and S3D has many settings to try and deal with that (such as wiping.) If there's only a short movement after...
