Re: Perimeter layer gaps, not connected

I had the same problems while printing PETG. Infill is completely fused together, infill is completely fused to the inner perimeter, but my outer shells were not fused. I could very easily separate them with the tip of a knife, and they just peeled away from eachother. I've fixed it by setting my e...

Re: Unnecessary Bridging?

I'm an idiot - The bridging *is* part of the model... I was misinterpreting what I saw.

Thanks again for your help.

Re: Unnecessary Bridging?

I don't see any problems with the model. Attached are corrected shape files for this item. When will some realise that a good proportion of free-to-download shape files are basically crap! Thanks, but the ones you sent still have an extraneous bridging inside the "mouthpiece" component. I...

Re: Unnecessary Bridging?

Here's a wonderful advantage of using Windows10...…..so the BG haters are disadvantaged! In Win10 there's a utility called 3D Builder. On loading an stl file, it auto checks if there's any issues and prompts for permission to rectify them.....and it does! You then simply do a Save as" in the 3...

Re: Unnecessary Bridging?

I don't see any problems with the model. Well you're not looking properly!!! Thanks! May I ask what you used to inspect / fix the model? (Was it netfabb?) As I mentioned, running it through Meshmixer analysis and "make solid" didn't seem to change anything. Also repairing normals and flip...

Re: Unnecessary Bridging?

I'm trying to print this: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:12862 but S3D is adding bridging in places for no apparent reason. I don't see any problems with the model. I pulled the model into meshmixer and checked for errors as well as played with "make solid", but it didn't change anythin...

Is Simplify3D still alive? (It's been almost a year since an update)

I got into 3D printing around the time that S3D 4.0 came out and I haven't seen an update since... There are lots of little bugs in S3D and so many interesting features being added routinely to other slicers. Is S3D working on a version 5.0 or does the partnership with FlashForge mean that S3D is de...

Re: How to see what changes were made to profile?

This does seem like a long overdue feature. And managing profiles in general is not very intuitive.

More generally - Is Simplify3D still alive? I haven't seen an update since I bought it about a year ago... (I'm on 4.0.1)

Only show feature types in preview that are is use

In Preview mode it would be nice if the feature type key only showed the feature types that are employed in the current model. That would be giving the user more information at a glance (what features will be used in the current print) with less on the screen. Win win!

Re: Raft first layer vs. regular first layer settings...

So, let me try to rephrase the question - The first layer and first line drawn by the gcode for a raft is significantly different from the first layer and first line drawn when there is no raft... The raft line is very thick and appropriate for my leveling tweaks but the regular layer is not. I am j...
