Re: OK, Time to Start Yet Another "Where is Version 5? " Thread

Man we are this far into the future and S3D still has no updates. When is someone going to contact the attorney general to identify if they are still doing business in their state. Don't go blaming the pandemic in your next press release. I am fully believe 5.0 is an internet hoax at this point. SAA...

Re: Version 5 Announcement

Let me be the first one to voice my skepticism that 5 will be any different than 4.1out of the gate. As usual the announcement is marketing fluff with no substance whatsoever. "Over the years, Simplify3D has built a reputation for accuracy and reliability." Really? I really hope I'...

Re: Version 5 Announcement

I really wish Prusa (the obvious king of 3D printing) would really ramp up development of their in house slicer variant so that it becomes the clear and obvious ONLY choice for an FDM slicer on ANY printer. They certainly have the resources and the expertise. They already hired a ton of developers ...

Re: Version 5 Announcement

I see they locked the previous thread because they knew people would be pissed about this 2020 release crap which we already knew they were going to pull. I didn't even get the email notice, probably cause they use batches. That or it was sent to new users first. https://scontent.fhou1-2.fna.fbcdn.n...

Re: S3D Development Update - Aug 2018

Buddy, I have a Master's in Software Development, you don't need to explain Agile principles that you copy+pasted off of Wikipedia to me. Customer's do not dictate the update-release cycle is my overarching point. The fact that you think you're entitled to an update schedule is laughable. Also, on ...

Re: S3D Development Update - Aug 2018

The general demeanor on this thread is horrid and shows what an embarrassment the 3D printing community can be at times. "Even if you let people walk all over you, they'll still complain you're not flat enough" comes to mind here. Simplify3D gives these updates out for free. I got the sof...

Re: S3D Development Update - Aug 2018

We need a new thread called Re: S3D Development Update - October 2018 'We dropped the ball.' I just spent the last 9 years working for a Construction Saas company where we had a Desktop application and a Cloud application and around the time we started working on the Cloud app is when everything fel...

Re: Send GCode Directly to OctoPrint

I would like the ability to not just send files but to manage batches of files that need to be sent to Octoprint. Especially when you are trying to print all the parts for another printer and you need to make sure that the next batch that finishes gets sent to the printer. Or in some cases multiple ...
