Re: Live Preview Tracking not updating in 5.1.0

I am using a Robo3D R1+ connected via USB to a Mac. I have been using this same setup for 6+ years. Live Preview used to work well before 5.x. I saw promotional blurbs for 5.x saying Live Preview was better and more accurate... in my experience it is not, it is worse. The LP gets way ahead of the pr...

Live Preview Tracking not updating in 5.1.0

I can turn on Live Preview Tracking, but it does not update frequently. There is no longer a UI control to set the update interval, so I can't tweak it to see if the behavior changes. There seem to be several issues: 1. When Preview By is set to Layer, it does not update for every layer. I saw the d...

Re: Move model / hide and show model checkmark

I also miss the show/hide function. I often import many variations of models and want to arrange them and then hide some of them to prepare for a specific print job.

Re: S3D V5 Live view

You also took away remaining print time in Preview and % complete in Machine Control Panel. Well, there's a little thing that might be a progress bar... no numbers on it.

Re: S3D V5 Live view

"We saw this as a seldom utilized feature..."

Are you kidding? Who did you ask? I used this *all the time*. It was especially useful for seeing when delicate or tricky areas of the print are coming up, so I know when to carefully watch the printer.

Re: V5 override settings

I used the Override settings quite a bit. For example, increasing the speed gradually to see if print quality suffered, and backing it off if I saw problems. Expecting people to type GCode into the Communication screen is a poor substitute.

Re: Several V5 issues, some major

Version 5.0.0 on Mac Monterey with a Robo3D R1+ I see these same issues you listed: - E-Stop button doesn't work. - No running estimate of time remaining or % done for currently running print. - No notification of total execution time when print finishes. - No live line tracking. - On the Accessory ...

G28 Home fail before G29 Auto Leveling?

I am experiencing an intermittent failure of auto leveling at the start of a print job. I will post this on both the Simplify3D site and the Robo3D site. I do not know if it is a software, firmware, or hardware failure. Simplify3D version 4.1.2 Robo3D R1+ with Marlin V1 firmware connected via USB th...

Auto-configure Material vs. Process

I've reviewed the discussions of Auto-configure Material, and I think I understand how I could tweak which attributes are affected by Material. I have a different issue. I use Processes to set certain features such as infill at different layers of my models. I name them like Lower, Middle, Upper, or...

Re: Gcode file always saved as .gcode

In my experience, if there are multiple Processes, the {EXTENSION "g"} has to go in the "Additional terminal commands for post processing" box of only the FIRST process, the one that handles the first layer. It's ignored in upper Processes.
