Re: Reimport mesh while preserving transform data (and other data)

This one has been documented for the development team apparently per the thread below. I'm really hoping they implement this one soon. I'm wasting a crazy amount of time re-setting up my S3D files every time I have to make one tiny adjustment to one of the component STLs. Insanely tedious and repeti...

Re: Updating STL sources in multiple-model factory files?

I'd like to add my emphatic support for this feature. Now that I am using S3D to slice multimaterial prints for a Palette 2 Pro, the inability to swap out an updated STL file is wasting a maddening amount of my time. If after I have spent time prepping and perfecting a multimaterial print, I find ou...

Re: Saving Supports to STL file

The STL file will not save the actual gcode that would include support structure. You need to save the factory file in order to maintain the custom supports. Do this under the File menu. Of course the Factory file is only usable with Simplify3D. Also, if you want to export the gcode for the model a...

Re: Expor Model With Supports?

Yes, the point of this is to be able to take the STL file (with supports) into another application, for example another slicer. In my case, PRUSA i3 owners have a custom PRUSA version of slic3r with some custom features. I bought Simplify 3D assuming I could use it's awesome custom support features,...

Re: Saving Supports to STL file

I did accomplish this inadvertently. Try exporting stl from the preview tab after PREPARE. If you delete the model, supports alone will be saved within the STL. Are you sure about that? I am on the Preview tab now, with supports showing on my model, and nothing I do will include the supports in the...
