Re: Hairy prints.

Thanks for the advice. The model on the right is now hairy free! I changed the retraction distance from 1mm to 2mm and checked the 'Avoid crossing outline for travel moments' box. All good now.

Hairy prints.

I am having printing problems. The inside of the model shown is getting a bit hairy. The green print was printed several years ago and is perfect. The white print is a recent print. I don’t think the printing process has been modified but I may be wrong there. I wouldn’t have thought the print head ...

Re: V5 Raft top infill

I am also finding it difficult to produce a decent raft with version 5. I am trying your method. So far I have a decent raft but the second process where the model is being printed has 5 layers at the layer height of the first process followed by layers at the correct height for the process. My raft...

Re: Raft printing problem

With a brim the model is built directly on to the build plate isn’t it? I find getting the model off the plate is difficult and the edges can get damaged removing it from the plate.

Re: Raft printing problem

I reduced the gap between the nozzle and the bed and this cured my initial problems. However when I use Version 4 of S3D I get a perfect raft with a nice flat glossy top layer. IMG_2122.JPG A bit out of focus but the top two layers have no gaps between the filaments and is a nice glossy flat surface...

Re: Raft printing problem

Yes I have tried levelling the bed again. I suspect a partially blocked nozzle or a dodgy feed. When I stopped printing the raft it was difficult to remove the filament. Now it is blocked. Need to do a strip down again tomorrow. I seem to getting blockages more than I used to get.

Raft printing problem

Raft Issue. I am having problems printing the first layer of a raft on a Flashforge Dreamer. The filament layer is intermittent. I am using PLA and the first layer is set to 230 degrees. There is a decent gap between nozzle and plate. It is a new nozzle. Anyone got any ideas? I have been printing ra...

Re: Printer head clogged!

Hi Doug,
Thanks for the tip. It took a while to get all the pla off the head. It had even gone down a cooling duct! A bit of dismantling needed and it was easier to sort out with the printer upside down! All working again now.

Printer head clogged!

Has anyone any tips/suggestions how to clear this mess? Printer is a Flashforge Dreamer. The print came away from the baseplate half way through and went undetected for a while!
