Re: Corners Bigger Than Body

Thanks for all the info Doug! Here's a small update. I've spent quite a few hours printing cubes, see image below. The best I can get for the bigger corner is 10.2, which is significantly better than 10.6. Am I being too picky? That just doesn't seem like a good enough tolerance. The last test I did...

Re: Corners Bigger Than Body

Alright, some progress and more "I don't know what to do next..." :) S3D - Start Points_Choose.png Before changing the Start Points from Optimize... to Choose... every cube had two oversized corners. After changing to Choose..., X marks the spot I chose, only one corner is oversized! That's good, bu...

Re: Corners Bigger Than Body

I wonder if this could be a side-effect of excess extrusion at either the start or the end of extrusion of the layer. Try moving the layer start points around using the "Start Point" settings on the Layer tab. If you can move the oversize around this way, then you'll need to take a look at coasting...

Re: post processing script

For my color change I use the bottom area of the Scripts tab. I found the info here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFzlJB0XbNE ;Filament change code below. Specify layer to swap filament. Print will pause and you can change filament, click LCD button to resume print. {REPLACE "; layer" "M117 Layer...

Corners Bigger Than Body

Thanks to @parallyze I was able to dial in my retraction settings; at least I think I have. I now have "extra" material at the corners. I've been using the MatterHackers Retraction Cubes STL for my tests; four 10x10x10 cubes with increased spacing between them (https://www.matterhackers.com/articles...

Re: Unwanted Vertical Lines

I'll start again with my thanks and appreciation for your time! it's really hard to recommend something without seeing the device "doing it's job"... :D 100% understood Had a look at the factory file - and I just have to ask: Why are there so many processes? Do you manage your print settings this wa...

Re: Unwanted Vertical Lines

This is a long post, so I first want to start off with a big Thank You!!! I greatly appreciate when people take time out of their day to help others! Are you talking about the massive "blobby" retracts when cooling kicks in? Yes! Green ones look okay, red ones don't. That is if there's the retracts,...

Re: Unwanted Vertical Lines

E3D V6 - Fans.png btw, the fan on your hotend is mounted the wrong way. It's sucking air away from the cold zone which usually doesn't work as well as pushing the air through the fins (and as recommended by e3d). Fixed! I looked at the V6 assembly instructions and saw what you mean. Good eye and th...

Unwanted Vertical Lines

The lines in my prints are getting worse and I'm too ignorant about the inner working of 3D Printing/Slicers to be able to figure out why... CR-10S with an E3D V6 Hotend. As I was typing this and looking again at the issue I may have realized something about the shifting of the line. You can see tha...

Re: Guide for E3D V6 + CR-10S Settings?

I’ve used several different brands of E3D V6 and settled in on two brands for my two Hictop printers. #2 uses All Metal (no PTFE tube). Perfect for High temp plastics such as PETG and ABS. No clogging and No melted PTFE tube. #1 uses PTFE tube (kit has changeable Metal or PTFE) for PLA printing. I ...
