Re: Extrusion Width Calculations (and multiplier tuning)

Very interesting and fits with what i have seen found over the past year. I switched to a 2 wall square which I use to verify starting height and to some extent Extrusion width (should be .2 or .3 larger than the model. Then print a different model that is just a 30x30 square 2 layer high of my chos...

Re: Helt on printing this?

Load you model up with the settngs you find best , click file, save factory file as and save. Post that file so we can see what you are doing and try it with your settings.

Re: question on temperatures

Your observations are correct. Most filament manufacture provide a range of printing temperature. I normally start at 10 degrees below the high mark. Most printers print colder than they say, according to posts I have read over time, so if that is true, shooting for the high side should put you in t...

Re: Setting Z Height

I set it with M206 . May be simpler to use S3d but I have always done it from the terminal as I tend to not use different layer heights too often.
Set it up and forget about it until it needs to change.

Re: how to manage support separation when printing at large layer heights?

Have no run into that yet.. but still using 4.01. You can try adding 1 layer of dense support at 100% and leave 1 layer separation. Most of my supports are 1mm resolution at 45% infill. If you are at a lower support infill rate, try bumping that up. Take all this with a lot of salt if you are using ...

Re: Manually remove supports FASTER

if the center supports are from the build plate to the model there is an option that say from build plate only. Other wise the way I have done this is to not generate automatic support and just manually add the few you need.

Re: Paid upgrade For 2019 upcoming Version 5.0

I have not been following this thread, but security is something the CUSTOMER should not have to think about. The software should be secure by design. The thing I am concerned with as a PAYING customer is that the software works without bugs and defects. when a bug or defect is found, it is fixed in...

Re: Flash Forge Finder .02mm Nozzle for miniatures

The other reason I did not go under .1 beside the fact the model looked better with taller layers was the support worked better, the tiny structure ( arrows and swords) were Stronger (very important if you don't have a dual extruder with soluble supports) and I didn't want to wait 7 hours for the pr...

Re: Flash Forge Finder .02mm Nozzle for miniatures

when I was doing this for a friend I was using a different machine and my nozzle was .25 mm I used a .25 Extrusion width rather than auto but I don't think that using auto is a problem. I found for my setup a layer height of .14 mm worked best. With very thin layers and if you are only doing one mod...
