Re: I tested Prusaslicer

There is so much resemblance to S3D that it makes you wonder if S3D developers would have participated. A guess would be S3d took slic3r which was written in Perl and converted it to C++ or some other compiled language back in the day.. Prusa did the same thing a few years ago. Slic3r is now a spli...

Re: S3D Ironing method, using a Process

If I need ironing I just slice with Prusaslicer 3.x it is more or less the same as S3D and setting transfer 1 to 1 for my use.

Re: New printer can't handle unsupported overhangs

For instance a setting of 1 is too much when your layer height is .5mm Layer height .5mm is really appalling. Can I ask what's your line width and speed? It's difficult to imagine what your overhangs and bridges look like. Obviously you don't use a larger nozzle for a small part. When appropriate I...

Re: New printer can't handle unsupported overhangs

The way I handle this type of issue is to use custom support at 1mm resolution and intervals that will bridge well. Just a couple supports every so often. This way there is some support and they are simple to remove. One thing I don't like about S3d 4.01 which is what I use, is that with tall layers...

Re: Nozzle diameter impact on Extrusion multiplier

I use multiple nozzle size all the time with my Makergear M2. I am also using an older version of S3D which I don't think matters as I also use Prusaslicer with the same Extrusion Multiplier. With extrusion width you have to take into account the actual thickness of the filament you are using. Most ...

Re: PETG on Ender 3 Printing issue

PETG is not some nasty filament that needs special anything to work.. It requires you starting Z offset is correct for you layer height, it requires you choose a sane speed for the model size, it requires you have dried the filament if left out, just like any other non PLA filament, it requires you ...

Re: PETG on Ender 3 Printing issue

Use the attached model to verify your extrusion multiplier, there should be no gaps between the stands of plastic (Use a jeweler loop or USB microscope) You may want to try a but lower temp, I use 235 for PETG but do not have the same printer Waves may be lack of infil... hard to tell from you pictu...

Re: Outer Perimeter Zig Zagging Causing Loud Vibration and Rough Surface

If you have gap fill set then it fills the gap and if it has to move back and fort the fill the gap it can cause a light weight inexpensive printer to shake.. This is normal, the hot end is moving very fast and has weight. Set "allow single extrude fill" rather than gap fill (advanced tab) and if th...
