Re: Qidi X-Smart poor quality

All I have on this printer is a "fancy" LCD touchscreen that gives me no options besides manually moving the X Y and Z positions, and to level the bed. Otherwise it seems completely useless other than selecting a file from usb to print. It is similar (Probably the same) to the Qidi Tech X...

Re: Qidi X-Smart poor quality

This should help with re-calculating steps/mm Link! Depending on firmware you might be able to simply send a g-code to update the stepping values with an M92 command. Though with a name like X-Smart you'd think the LCD would have controls for the stepping values. I was actually following a tutorial...

Re: Qidi X-Smart poor quality

I've been following this thread and I'm totally confused. You start by using one of the almost impossible to print test pieces that is designed for very fine tuning of the extruder settings. I wrongly assumed you were 100% happy with the basic extruder settings....and that you were wanting to fine ...

Re: Qidi X-Smart poor quality

Okay so here is my current situation... I can print these spikes out but only at a very low temperature. I start it off at 185c for the first layer, and then have it go down each layer by 5c until it reaches 155c. That is the only way I can achieve that print without really bad stringing. However, I...

Re: Qidi X-Smart poor quality

I was able to fix the warping pretty easily. However now I am basically getting failed prints where they don't stay together during the print, especially with more complex prints like figurines. I am using Hatchbox gray PLA which I assumed would need a much higher temperature. I will keep experiment...

Re: Qidi X-Smart poor quality

Thanks everybody for the feedback so far! I do agree I have started to print out some 20mm cubes and using that to calibrate my extrusion. However I did want to show a print I just did that I feel came out a lot better than the others. I printed the 4 spike retraction test again and other than some ...

Re: Qidi X-Smart poor quality

For a direct drive the retraction probably shouldn't be more than 2mm I also use between 1800 and 2400 for speed on retraction. The basic settings for the X-one should be fine for the most part. These prints look hot. Have you tried using the QIDI print slicer to see how it does? Yea I was able to ...

Qidi X-Smart poor quality

Hello, I recently purchased a Qidi X-smart printer which seems to be relatively new as there is no simplify 3d profile for it yet. I have spent the past week and a half basically trying to get this thing to print something decent with simplify 3d. Unfortunately I have had absolute no luck with anyth...
