Re: Ender 3S 1 not in configuration assistant

Well, Doug's reply isn't helpful in the least. Get off your high horse. Of course I did the usual 'read the manual and contact support'. But, they take 24-48 to respond. A forum full of active members is usually responsive within minutes. Of course, we have to put up with the responses like yours. B...

Ender 3S 1 not in configuration assistant

Just unpacked a new Ender 3S1 but the configuration assistant doesn't have it listed. Will the regular Ender 3 or Ender 3 Pro profiles work? The hotend of this printer is completely different from the Ender 3, so I'm leaning toward 'no'.

Re: Print pausing at random intervals

Are you on OS X by any chance? You have to be EXTRA careful then, since OS X 10.9 has App Nap feature and if Simplify3D (or Pronterface....) is not in foreground, Application will pause!!! You can disable App Nap if you open Application properties and select "Prevent App Nap"! Nail on the...

Re: App crashing when using multiple processes

Not sure what the problem was. I was trying to use two different FFF profiles in series. I just created a new process from each. This was causing the crash. But, If I just copy/pasted the first process and modified it to the parameters of the other profile everything worked fine.

App crashing when using multiple processes

OSX 10.11.6 S3D 4.0.1 I have a model that needs one type of support for the first 6mm of the print, then I change to another process for 6mm and up. When I click prepare to print using both processes, the app crashes. Each process on its own works fine, so I know the processes are working. Maybe som...

Qiditech 1 USB printing not working

I have a new Qiditech 1 printer. When I save files out to SD card everything works fine. But, when I try to send the same job out over USB, only the right extruder heats up. The left extruder and the bed stay ice cold. I don't know what's going on behind the scenes in S3D. But, I didn't think there ...

Frequent/regular "Could not open file for reading" error

Having real trouble getting S3D to consistently send larger files to my printer. I'm getting "Could not open file for reading". Details: XYZ Duo 2.1.0 firmware OS: OSX 10.11.6 (el capitan) In the past, I've been able to save toolpaths to disk and manually run the g-code from the machine co...

Re: S3D giving "could not open file for reading" on Mac OSX

FYI, I had the same issue. Advice above worked.

Any idea why though? It seems to happen on larger files for me. This one was 10236 bytes.

Re: Using 2nd extruder for support material??

Thanks for the advice. I am just getting confused with the software layout. There’s no tutorial or walkthrough for setting up dual extruders, and this is my first time using the software. The confusing part was (is) the difference between printer profiles and process files. I’m still not sure I unde...
