Based on past performance, a new major version will show up in 3-4 years and we won't know what's in it until it's released.

Another way would be using "MeshMixer". It offered tree supports ages ago and you can set up the parameters (separation height etc.) in MeshMixer. Afterwards you can export the tree support-structure. It's freely available, just like 10+ years of tutorials for it... MeshMixer hasn't worke...

Another example of the developers being too damned lazy to create official documentation for this app. It's inexcusable that WE'RE PAYING FOR this laziness. I find this feature to be mostly useless unless the app provides a way to create such a custom support model. Are there any other apps that can...

There's only one post from S3D support in this thread and it was regarding something other than the subject of the thread. I'm guessing that means we won't be getting tree supports in 5.x.

Here's an example with a lot of parts in one print. All the infill is only 15%.

Stock MacBook Air, 15-inch, M2, 2023, MacOS 14.2.1. Nothing custom in terms of hardware or software. Here's another with the same behavior: I tried this last factory file on my M2 MBP w/ 32GB of RAM and I see the same lagging after slicing. I've been seeing it on my more complex models before that....

Even a curved top consists of overlapping layers. Any horizontal surface that is visible outside the model is a top layer.
