I found the solution so I thought I'd post back. under tools>firmware configuration>macros changes the buttons in the machine control to whatever you want, I use disable software endstops, enable them, and i think endstop stautus

i got this in email back from qidi support: I've installed it on windows10 and it seems to work for now. Is there anyway to connect to the Qidi 3d printers, specifically the qidi x-max? I've grown accustomed to serial monitoring through simplify3d and while the s3d profile for the x-max works great when transferred by sd card or sent over the network, monitoring is still desired.

Quick question; My PET-G prints best with no infill and single extrusion walls for transparent clarity. So Thin walls, high layer height, with no infill has been great. However, 'vase mode' produces better thin walls for this material for me. But, no support structures are allowed in 'vase mode'. So...

great advice and visuals much appreciated! PETG can be very stringy when printed too cold IMO. Generally I use at least 2 shells on every print. It can be really difficult to get awesome layer adhesion with petg above 50+ mm/s.
