In order to decide if I should upgrade to v5 (or leave Simplify3D for good): has my suggestion for improvement been understood (or better: implemented) in the meantime already?
There's a common problem of local overheating when printing small parts with several "islands" (unconnected sub-parts): with the usual print strategy of printing all perimeter(s) & infill for one particular island first, then proceeding to the next , etc., the nozzle (and heatblock too...
Well thanks for the info... I found out in the meantime that the "islands sequentially" in fact doesn't do what I imagined, that is to print the perimeters (better still: outlines) of all islands first, then the remaining perimeters (if any) of all islands, and finally the infill of all is...
Ok, answering my own question ... I bought & installed Simplify3D and found that I could select this strategy with the "Print islands sequentially without optimization" option - nice!
Quick (pre-sales ) question: is this behavior (printing the perimeters for all features before printing the infill for all features) still active in the current version of Simplify3D?
