Re: 'Exotic' Filament Thread

I have printed with (Dupont Zytel - see earlier posts) which is Nylon 66 based. According to their guides (such as this https://www.dupont.com/content/dam/dupont/products-and-services/plastics-polymers-and-resins/thermoplastics/documents/Zytel/Minlon%20Zytel%20Design%20Info%20Module%202.pdf ), there...

It will be interesting to see what slicer first brings non-planer slicing to the market first.

Re: Paid upgrade For 2019 upcoming Version 5.0

I've been using the new Prusa Slicer exclusively for the last week with my MK3s/MMU2S ..... and it works. Also, as a result I'm now getting used to the UI and Workflow as I really till now only had experience with S3D. The only thing I miss so far is the custom supports which is much easier in S3D. ...

Re: Prusa MMU2s Testing & Results

Here is what I see with the current Purge Block. The bit I have outlined in RED is still printed @ 100% Infil but really only needs to be 50% as the right hand half is only needed to support the Yellow section for when the print gets to the eye.

Prusa MMU2s Testing & Results

I've been going back and forth with support regarding the MMU2s and the default profile is now looking much better. I've been printing both single and multi colour and it is: - Much more reliable (less loading errors) - Good Tip formation on the filament between changes - Good balance between speed ...

Re: Support for MMU2

I've been going back and forth with support with new GCode for the MMU2s and it is looking much much better, and far more reliable. A few more tweaks an it should be pretty good with the current version of S3D. :) One set of features that are missing in the current version is the lack of any smart i...

Re: Support for MMU2

Edit - Here is a better photo showing the above issue where the print head sits on top of the shield as it does unload/loads. You end up with big blobs that on the next pass the nozzle hits and you then get a layer shift. Any suggestions welcome, or is the MMU2S too new for S3D?

Re: Support for MMU2

Here is the print I did with S3D - a few faceplate for the Prusa. You can see the amount of wasted plastic and time. Also it does not show up well in the photo but there is a fair bit of black smudging where it was not completly purged out.

Re: Support for MMU2

I've got my MMU2s all setup and working well. I'd be interested in hearing what others are doing in S3D. I've already a heap of Processes that I've tuned for different filaments so I'm wanting to use these rather than the customer support provided profile. What I'm doing is: - Add a process for each...
