Re: Retraction bugged 4.1.1 & 4.1.2

This is doing exactly what it's supposed to, as it's programmed in absolute, not incremental. G92 E0.0000 ' Zeroes out the extruder, telling the machine that wherever it's at, that's now E0 G1 E-0.8000 F2100 ' Retracts it .8mm G1 0.200 F10000; ; feature skirt ; tool H0.200 W0.450 G1 Z0.600 F3600 G1 ...

Re: Paid upgrade For 2019 upcoming Version 5.0

How would it be a good thing to get rid of STL files while everyone else mainly supplies them? Any model from the internet then suddenly needs to be converted to a not STL file to use it... Did you ever designed an stl file? I guess not. Its not like you wont be able to print stls, they'll simply a...

Re: Micro pauses in print.

I've seen the same pause using octoprint and attempting to connect to the rpi from a different computer than what's logged in, as an FYI to anyone thinking about going that approach. Onboard storage like an SD card will perform better, as the printer will read ahead and cache accordingly. From my ex...

Re: No Edge Support For Top Layers over Sparse Infill

I've gotten around it by manually adding a few lines in the gcode to make a straight line from edge of part to other edge of part before the solid infill on the base layer. Pretty much every other software pulls it off fine, even the Afinia proprietary stuff from 6 years ago. On big prints it's simp...

Re: Alfawise bed size and Home

On the G-Code tab you can specify your machine's build volume, and adjust the origin offset accordingly. You can also create an STL of your machine, positioned properly, and add it to the visualization area. There's a how to here - Machine Preview

Re: I dentify Layer Where Things Happen Like Fan On - Off

+1
Something like a console viewer to show what's happening in the current line would be helpful when using the show by line feature. I've been opening up in notepad++ and scrolling to the lines in question to follow along.

Re: Variable acceleration and Jerk

For what it's worth this has my vote. Also, as an aside to anyone who comes across this post as it's one of the first things that comes up on a search, on the makergear M3-ID acceleration is M204 P ## instead of S##. It's probably true in other versions of makergear machines, but you can verify with...

Re: Bug in 4.1 with first layer of print

I'm also having issues with first layer. With 4.1 I hear filament grinding when it "retracts" between perimeter and infill on the first layer, and see it squirt out extra instead of retracting. It randomly does the same on subsequent layers. It's also pretty notably underfilling the first layer rega...
