Re: Paid upgrade For 2019 upcoming Version 5.0

StealthPrint, I can not agree more!!! that is exactly what it feels like to me, stretching it as long as they can. I know when they announced 5.0 and said that it would be released in 2019 I bought a seat of S3D. I had been using a friends computer to try out S3D and finally decided to get my own co...

Re: Paid upgrade For 2019 upcoming Version 5.0

yes the Prusa slicer is free but for how long?? changing the licence of PS is so incredibly hard that's almost impossible. they can make some other slicer from scratch but changing PS to something not open sourced that cost money requires **every single developer that pushed code into slic3r** to s...

Re: Pause at layer height

Not to bash S3D, but take a look at how to do it in Prusa Slicer 2.0. Very fast and elegant, when I have to do a part with a filament change that is the slicer I use.

Re: Paid upgrade For 2019 upcoming Version 5.0

robertwallace I could not agree more with your last statement. Unfortunately after spending time using the Prusa Slicer 2.0 I do tend to use it more. My only problems is that it does take longer to slice than S3D, but I feel that it has been generating better prints, and more accurate time estimates...

Re: Paid upgrade For 2019 upcoming Version 5.0

Well great! I JUST purchased the product, now to read that the upgrade will cost me even more. That's not cool at all. I sure hope there is consideration as to when customers purchased the product. actually your purchase comes with 12 months of free upgrades. which should be lifetime like was said ...

Re: Paid upgrade For 2019 upcoming Version 5.0

I've had S3D for awhile now. I've never looked at any other slicer since, so I have no idea how they've improved over time. I'm happy with the ease of use, multiple profiles ect with S3D. Good prints too. I hope the upgrade price wont exceed 20-25% of initial purchase. But we'll see. Wish there was...

Re: Paid upgrade For 2019 upcoming Version 5.0

@3DWP, Yes I also have just finished a whole day of Playing with the new Prusa Slicer, I must say that there is a lot in there that I am extremely happy with, as always room for improvement but it at least they were keeping people updated on the changes coming too. I agree that S3D marketing has REA...

Re: Paid upgrade For 2019 upcoming Version 5.0

I am starting to agree with you, like you said we are halfway through the year, and have heard nothing! Most companies have been running the hype train talking up new features that are in the software about to roll out. And like you said have a set scheduled as to when the upgrades will drop. They c...

Re: Feature Request: Provide support for 3D Mouse

+5!!!!! I use my 3D mouse with solidworks and it is just second nature when working in a design environment. I do not know how many time I am working in S3D and reach up and grab the 3DConnexion and realize that it does not work. I agree that it is absolutely crazy that this has been a request for s...
