Re: Version 5 Announcement

I can tell you one company that needs to buy them out is Makerbot, as makerbots own slice program is so antiquated that it is sad that they keep coming up with hardware that the software cannot even fully use, lol. That is the main reason i bought Simplify 3d and with the promise of timely updates a...

Re: Version 5 Announcement

I see they locked the massive prior version 5 discussion thread. Kinda like posts that point out their lack of response to the status of Version 5 then they disappear due them being deleted by them. I have found whenever a company cannot respond with a legitimate answers to very factual based user ...

Re: Paid upgrade For 2020 upcoming Version 5.0

Hi Simplify3D, I am getting really concerned about this upcoming update. My free upgrade period is done this June. I originally wasn't worried about purchasing when I did as Update 5 was promised late 2019. I got really excited when I got the email about V5 coming out in early 2020. Unfortunately w...

Version 5.0 So we are 3 months later after announcement and ??

So you announced in December 2019 that Version 5.0 was coming, however it has been radio silence since then and also with any updates at all such as new features to match what your competitors are doing today since your software is over 8 months old. Just be straight with us on if your done and stop...

Re: Print outline/perimeter shells on OUTSIDE of hollow model instead of INSIDE

I use Solidworks so do you have Autodesk Inventor? Use the CAD shell command then do 1 shell only in the 3d print. So have your CAD do the shelling on the side you want the additional material to go to. You basically are overriding the shell command in alot of ways by doing this, but yet getting the...

Re: Print outline/perimeter shells on OUTSIDE of hollow model instead of INSIDE

Just do a shell function in your CAD program and give the offset surface about .025 inches thick. Then do a 2 shell max on the print.

Re: Suggestion on settings by comparing 2 prints from different slicers

Ok so i and Simplify Support have worked out a couple setting changes that cleared this up. We reduced the Extrusion Multiplier to 0.90. We set the internal Fill Pattern to Rectilinear and the Outline Overlap to 20%. We also enabled Avoid Crossing Outline for Travel Movements. Then We disabled Coast...

Re: Suggestion on settings by comparing 2 prints from different slicers

The speed is within 10% of the makerbot setting. I sent simplify3d a email but have not hear anything for a couple of days.

Suggestion on settings by comparing 2 prints from different slicers

So i have a couple makerbots and they do well. I did notice a difference in print quality from the makerbot software vs simplify3d. Suggestion on changes to make on my SImplify3d settings. The makerbot print looks smoother: makerbotprint.jpg The simplify3d looks less smooth. Could this be vibrations...
