Version 5. Yeah. No. Thanks.

Three years? Four? Not sure. $60 upgrade? Sure, why not. Does the product offering meet the expectations of paying customers who have been waiting YEARS while pretty much being ghosted by the company? I've been reading posts from others who decided to upgrade. Not even close. For me the problem is s...

Re: OK, Time to Start Yet Another "Where is Version 5? " Thread

I have no problem paying a reasonable annual fee for good software. In fact, prefer to pay for software precisely because this means the publisher will have funds to support, maintain and evolve the product. I want quality software. I just don't want to rent it (stop paying and it goes "poof&qu...

Re: OK, Time to Start Yet Another "Where is Version 5? " Thread

I came here to check for updates on when the next version might be out. Sad to discover nothing changed since the last time I was here, which was in September of 2019. So, nearly two years and nothing. This is sad and truly insulting to customers. These guys need to sell the business to someone who ...

Re: Help diagnosing print quality problems

Well, after trying different ideas Pressure Advance fixed the problem. I still have some tuning to do but the improvement is beyond obvious. It fixed more than the basic problems I was having. I'll fine-tune some more but this is the first setting I've touched that's actually made a real difference ...

Help diagnosing print quality problems

I could use a little guidance on how to fine tune S3D to produce better results. Factory file attached. Basics PETG 0.8 mm nozzle, hardened steel 230 C nozzle, E3D volcano, BMG extruder 60 C bed 100 mm/s nominal speed Ball-screw/stepper driven machine, custom built This is what I think is going on A...

Re: Process, Profiles, Printers, Tuning, how to?

I studied German for a couple of years. Haven't used it for over a decade. If you have video for me to watch go ahead and post the link.

Thanks.

Re: Process, Profiles, Printers, Tuning, how to?

Question, why do you run both brass and hardened nozzles? Do you get better results with one vs the other? I've been trying to standardize on hardened nozzles for durability (and, frankly, to remove yet another variable).

Re: Process, Profiles, Printers, Tuning, how to?

Interesting point. The reason I like to include more information is because often-times changes of some of these parameters trigger other changes. A simple example might be changing from a 0.4 mm to a 1.0 mm nozzle, where, well, everything changes. One of my goals is to have fully qualified settings...

Re: Process, Profiles, Printers, Tuning, how to?

The most disconcerting aspect of Profiles for me seems to be that they are stored in the registry. As a software engineer myself, I can't really get my head around this idea. Profiles need to be files that are stored and managed by the user as they see fit. For example, if you are developing a new p...
