5.1.1 crashed instantly on startup, but... fixed?
I haven't bothered with updates since 5.0.0, as they all kept crashing immediately on startup. (Other posts on 5.0.1 and 5.0.2 detail this.) Thanks @eshane! And glad you were able to repro. 
I actually hadn't been in the habit of D&Ding the STLs - I typically only use the import feature. Just tested with three different STL files in 5.0.2. No problems at all, and I haven't tested on any other version.

Thanks @parallyze and @eshane! Confirmed %localappdata%\Simplify3D\S3D-Software-V5\savedState.factory exists. And the problem has now shifted/refined! 1. @s3djason, I've attempted to send you a PM. It appears to be stuck in the Outbox and will not appear in Sent Items, so I can't confirm it whether it's truly not sent or just the behaviour of this forum software.
