Unevenly spaced / offset supports?

For some reason the supports seem to be offset to one side throughout my model. I wanted a horizontal separation to make them easier to remove but was expecting it to be symmetrical. The image shows where it is most obvious. The final print followed the preview exactly, but the print in matte black ...

Re: Broad 'HELP' info?

"I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you asking what's the different between using a retraction vertical lift of 0.6, 0.7, or 3mm? It changes the physical distance that the printer lifts so the value is 1-to-1 with the distance that the Z axis moves. I'm not sure how to describe it bet...

Re: Broad 'HELP' info?

The "Retract Vertical Lift" setting on the Extruders tab is literally how far the extruder should raise in the Z axis before moving to a new location. The default is zero, meaning it doesn't lift before moving. As I said, I understand what retraction is, and I used it as an example. I spe...

Re: Makergear M3-ID, T1 (right head) problem w Vs 5.0.1

GuyGuy wrote: Thu Feb 23, 2023 2:57 pm Hello,
To overcome this situation, I created 3 profiles.
1 for the left extruder (T0)
1 for right extruder (T1)
1 for dual (T0 and T1)
For the management of the filament cooling fans, I manage this with a script (I'm using Klipper)
So you have the same issue with the same printer?

Re: Makergear M3-ID, T1 (right head) problem w Vs 5.0.1

I don't see any T0 values in the gcode, so it definitely looks like the software is telling the printer to correctly use T1. This might need to be a question for Makergear if the firmware is using the wrong tool when you send a T1 command. As I said originally, the same sketch, re sliced in V4 prin...

Re: Makergear M3-ID, T1 (right head) problem w Vs 5.0.1

Sorry - I'd forgotten that the semi-colon stuff is just comments. I should have known better. It was supposed to do the bed level checking with T0, then switch to T1 until end of print. T0 should not have been required to warm up at all. Immediately below all the comments... G90 M82 M106 S0 P0 M140 ...

Re: Broad 'HELP' info?

I have seen that, but it usually consist of a short phrase and only on a few items. I want to learn everything I can about this software - little point in having several thousand dollars worth of hardware and software if you can't use it well. For example: Under advanced process settings, one of the...

Broad 'HELP' info?

Does anyone know if there is a kind of 'book of help' explaining each and every S3D setting? I have Frederik Forquignon's "3D Printing with Simplify 3D" which I've found really useful. Just wondering if there is anything else. I am a little surprised and more than a bit disappointed not to...

Once I knew what to look for, I could immediately see what I had done wrong. You were absolutely correct.

Again, thank you.
