Problem solved. I had inadvertently got merge all outlines into a single solid model checked.

Imported model looks ok but some features lost by slicing
Hi I have created an .stl file from proDesktop and it looks OK when I import it into S3D. All the features can be seen in the orange solid on the screen. However when I click the prepare to print button the shape is evident but the array of holes and the 1 mm deep groove is lost from the sliced mode...
