Impossible to maximise window on Ubuntu 16.04

I'm running a print from my Ubuntu 16.04 laptop using s3d v4.0.1. The initial Simplify3D window looks fine, but when I click "Prepare to print" and get to Preview Mode, the window doesn't maximise. Even when I try to make the window smaller and then maximise again, the title bar doesn't in...

Simplify3d killed my print on install

Really annoying: I was printing with the tools I usually use, and then I installed the latest Simplify3D, and ran it after the install was done. Stupidly(!), Simplify3D killed my running print by grabbing the serial port. The printer released the motors and the Z axis fell down, effectively destroyi...

Print skirt and brim at the same time?

Hi, I've recently started printing with ABS after doing PLA only for a few years. Like everyone else I get a lot more warping of the ABS parts. To get by this, I've slathered the glass on my heated bed in ABS juice (ABS dissolved in acetone), which leaves a film of ABS on the entire bed, and that ge...

Re: Slicer fail

OK, I think I understand the problem. Sounds like this thin wall issue is about the same that has been worked on in slic3r for the past year and a half: https://github.com/alexrj/Slic3r/issues/24 https://github.com/alexrj/Slic3r/issues/261 I don't have the profile I used here, but I think the only s...

Slicer fail

I remain unimpressed by your software, so consider this my final bug report as I shelve it. In my opinion, Creator bears the markings of something written in a rush, not much tested, and never put to real use. It just falls apart in my hands. As discussed earlier, my extrusion multiplier was probabl...

Re: My custom M2 profile

Thanks for the cred. :) I've had better results with bridging at lower speeds actually. It seemed that getting time to cool on the way was better than zipping across. How are your prints better than the ones sliced with slic3r? I've only really printed a cube and some small test parts that were brok...

Re: 1.04 will not hold bed temp.

If you look at the gcode generated by Creator, can you find the lines with M140 or M190? Do they make sense? They should be something like:

M190 S60

to set a bed temperature of 60. Can you see any difference in Creator's and slic3r's outputs in those lines?

Re: Print results on M2

I see that v1.0.4 has been released, but I don't see any information about gcode generation or profile improvements. Is there any reason to think I'll see better prints with 1.0.4?

Print results on M2

I've printed a 40mm test cube on my M2 with v1.0.3 and the M2 settings changed to 0.2mm layer height. I have to say that I'm not overly impressed. On the very first layer, the perimeter was deposited, then the nozzled moved to the start position of the infill, and there was some stringing/ooze on th...
