Re: How to change initial starting purge (nozzle wipe?)

See http://reprap.org/wiki/G-code for a reference for G code. Paragraph 4.4.150 has the tool select code ( http://reprap.org/wiki/G-code#T:_Select_Tool ). T0 (on a line by itself) selects the first extruder, T1 selects the second, etc.

Re: show process for imported gcode file

jimc, Since you'd have to open it from the Preview after loading a G-code file, I think something that is basically the FFF settings window with all the setting controls "grayed out" (disabled) would be sufficient. I suppose you could also put " - [Read Only]" in the title bar. I...

Re: Version 2.1.1 M104 sent from SD card display problem

Karl, When G-codes are sent from the SD card, they are NOT "echoed" up the USB port for S3D to see them and react. S3D has NO idea what gets sent from the SD card to the printer firmware. All it know is that the file was sent. This is part of the attraction of printing from the SD card: S3...

Re: Slicing rough top layer at some points?

w0nk1, You might use a second process, starting near the top, with a smaller layer thickness. Let's say you run most of the part at 0.2 mm layer thickness. Apply a second process, starting a mm or so from the top with an 0.1 mm layer thickness. Like using the thin Legos where the curvature dictates,...

Re: Starting Simplify 3d in ubuntu

Okay, different file manager or desktop manager, I guess. In my old Linux Mint 11 / Gnome2 system, if I right-click on a folder, there is an "Open as administrator" option: OpenAsAdminInMint11.png On my notebook, Linux Mint 13 / Cinnamon, it's "Open as root". Not sure what straig...

Re: Starting Simplify 3d in ubuntu

Hey, bigfella! (And 10k!) Here's what I did, thanks to help from a couple more experienced users than myself, who posted all the key pieces on the MakerGear forum. I use Linux Mint on a Dell notebook; it's an Ubuntu-based distro, so these instructions should work (maybe with tweaks) for your setup. ...

Re: Feature Request: Mirror function...

This has been requested before ---- someone suggested being able to enter negative scaling numbers (like X scale = -1.000 to mirror image along the X axis) as a way to mirror the print. But I just tried it in 2.1.1 under Linux and you can't enter a negative scale. For now, probably have to do it in ...

Re: Default supports are flawed

Guys, Try going to the Support tab in the FFF Settings window (showing advanced). In the Automatic Placement section on the right, try reducing the Support Pillar Resolution. I don't remember what the default is, but I have mine set to 1.0 mm, and I get good supports when printing the 2013 Make Maga...

Re: Having to wait for bed to head before extruder

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to tell simplify to not wait for the heated bed to reach temperature before the extruder can start heating. all my other bits of slicer software just heat both at once. Thanks Matt In the FFF Settings window, be sure the Advanced settings are exposed. In the Tem...

Re: Calibrating Process/Profile for good prints

Printing 3 boxes of 20x20x10 mm in one print with individual processes, one with Extrution multiplier 0.90, one with 1.00 and one with 1.10 (yes I know, big increments) ALL of the tree boxes are under extruding alot Then printed a single 20x20x10 mm box with 1.10 as Extr. Multiplier, and it's over ...
