Re: Profile Management (feature request)

Thanks for the info about profiles in Gcode files, Clayton. An editable notes field in the profile might help. Then the user can post his/her own info about lineage and that would be recoverable from the gcode. To clear up a point, as I understand your answer, it is necessary to export the profile a...

Laser Cutters/Engravers (feature request)

Lately, I have been producing laser-cut objects in conjunction with printed objects. It would be quite handy to export slices in 2D cross sections, say dxf format, from the 3D model in Creator, as an extension to the cross-section concept. But, only the lines in one cut-plane are needed in the dxf f...

Profile Management (feature request)

Below is a suggestion and some questions regarding profiles: I frequently create tweaked profiles to deal with idiosyncrasies of specific prints. I manage these by saving the profiles with the objects ... usually there is a folder for the model, then sub-directories for G-code files and Profile file...

Re: The Ultimate Compatibility Thread

Looking at the "Load Profile" drop down on the FFF Settings screen, I only see starting profiles for 5 types of printers. We need a map or matrix showing which profile(s) goes with which printers and which models of printers. There are also a few more printers in the x3G file post processing section...

Re: Recurring Blob Pattern

I read an article in a forum that I can't recall or find, that may be the answer to this issue. First, this problem is more evident on horizontally curved sections and is absent on horizontally straight sections, such as the side of a cube. The article had to do with computing the speed at which mat...

Re: Fighting with the first setting page of my profile!

This seems counter-intuitive, however, with a MakerGear M2, I was able to eliminate most layer boundary blobs by reducing lift to 0.

Good luck.

Re: Creator 1.1.4 Update - File Management

I see Dale's juices are already flowing. It may be best to write down all the components of a build, decide how to treat each of these with regard to the workflow and come up with some sort of plan that is not a patchwork.

Re: Creator 1.1.4 Update - File Management

Clayton and Dale, The problem I'm running into is that new constraints have been added to the workflow that conflict with my previous methods. These cause the the Mac OS to become quite testy. Worse, even when I override it, I'm never quite sure if I'm burning my bridges and creating other problems ...

Re: Creator 1.1.4 Update - File Management

Thanks for the continued refinements. We all appreciate your efforts. However, the file management upgrade for 1.1.4 is causing problems for me. I like to keep related files in project folders. My usual practice is to keep profile and the Gcode files in folders below the stl and other source files r...
