Re: Documentation

The Print from SD and Upload to SD appear in the Machine Control Panel. You access that by clicking the gear icon on the right side toolbar, or typing CMD-P on a Mac. I imagine it would be CTRL-P on a PC.

Re: Found a Bug?

Trying to slice your factory file took up all the memory on my computer and had to be killed. Looking at the model in cross section, it looks to be two zero-width surfaces enclosing a volume the thickness of what should be a wall, instead of a solid wall. Did you model this with a mesh modeler, per ...

Re: Documentation

Those buttons are still there for me in 2.1! What do you see? I don't recommend using Upload to SD unless you are sure your gcode file is pretty small, by the way. It can take a long time since it is doing the upload at the communication speed with the printer, and not the faster USB transfer speed ...

Re: Found this video

For what it's worth, I agree with 3Drasle. I didn't take David's comments on my prints personally, I don't think of making prints as a contest I'm trying to win. Nor do I think it should be considered outrageous if someone implies that maybe Simplify3D isn't better in every possible way than every o...

Re: print sparse infill speed

Sorry, my bad. I was mis-remembering/thinking of support structure underspeed. There doesn't appear to be any setting corresponding to what you want. I was thinking maybe you could set the default speed slower and use an outline underspeed of >100%, but that doesn't seem to be possible, either.

Re: Found this video

I have not optimized for seam control, I'm sure it could be better. Others have said that KissSlicer has better seam handling, so you are not alone in your opinion. Almost all those were done pre-2.1, which introduces a setting to set layer start location. While not a fix for visible layer starts, i...

Re: Documentation

I wrote this up for 2.0.1, parts are dated with 2.1 but on the whole it is still relevant: http://jinschoi.github.io/simplify3d-docs/

There is also the Quick Start Guide available under the Help menu.

Re: Found this video

Everthing I made here has been sliced in Simplify3D: http://www.thingiverse.com/jsc/made Not to hold these out as examples of exemplary prints, but just as evidence that nice prints are possible. I think the quality of parts depends 99% on the process settings, and you Cura and Kiss may have default...

Minor 2.1.0 bug - starts up in verbose mode

When connecting to a printer, the communications panel shows all communications even though the verbose check button is not on.
